Absolute feedback systems for efficient drives

03 August 2015

The BML series of magnetically encoded absolute position and angle measurement systems from Balluff are said to offer rugged and precise absolute position and angle measurement systems.

The new systems, which employ Permagnet nonius technology, are IP67 rated for external installation. As an open kit for full integration, they now also have the option of being used in rotary applications.

Using these systems, the formats, strokes and end positions of axes can be adjusted automatically. The new absolute encoder disk can be integrated into motors and actuators to offer an absolute feedback solution, offering an alternative to conventional magnetic or optical solutions for accurate control of motors and drives. For rotary applications it also offers a space saving solution, being just 12 – 20mm in length and 30mm in diameter.
