Fieldbus diagnostic handheld device

05 May 2015

The new FDH-1 FieldConnex fieldbus diagnostic handheld device from Pepperl+Fuchs is designed to simplify commissioning and troubleshooting a fieldbus installation.

The mobile device can check any fieldbus segment with just the press of a button. The FDH-1 uses a simple method to display the quality of the fieldbus installation.

The device has been designed to be easy to operate without the need for expert fieldbus knowledge. All that is required is to connect the device to any fieldbus segment which enables it to show whether there are any errors in the physical layer installation prior to commissioning a segment. If there are errors, it will pinpoint what they are, where they are, and how they can be corrected.

The FDH-1 can also be used to check existing cables in to determine whether they are suitable for a fieldbus installation.

In existing installations, it can check the short-circuit protection at the spur connections.
