Sensors offer more than a fixed distance to an object

03 February 2015

Unlike standard sensors, where sensing distance values can change, depending on the material, Baumer Factor 1 inductive sensors are said to be able to maintain the same sensing distance for all metals.

This uniform distance can increase flexibility in system construction and sensor installation. In particular, distances between sensor and object in devices are generally larger than with conventional sensors, especially for aluminum. This, in turn, simplifies adjustment and minimises the risk of damage.

The sensors are suited to use in applications with variable objects and they are available in four cylindrical sizes – 6, 8, 12 and 18mm.

The sensors are also said to be the fastest in their class in relation to sensing distance. High EMC immunity and the small number of components ensure stable processes and reliability.
