Miniature servo motor controller

15 December 2014

An addition to its ESCON servo controller family, maxon motor has recently introduced yet another miniaturised, postage stamp-sized OEM plug-in module.

The high-performance four-quadrant PWM servo motor controller has been developed to command permanent-magnet-activated brushed DC motors and BLDC motors (brushless DC motors, or EC motors) with Hall sensors up to 48 Watt continuous output and 144 Watt peak output.

As part of the ESCON family it is said to offer high usability, good performance and power density.

Additional functionality includes RC servo signal evaluation for speed or current set values, current limiter offset, or the option to predefine analog speed ramps.
