Next Generations – Experience the future live at SPS IPC Drives

25 November 2013

At this year's SPS IPC Drives, Mitsubishi Electric will be giving visitors a closer look into the future of its automation solutions. For the first time in Europe, the successors to the compact MELSEC FX PLC series and the modular automation concept MELSEC iQ Platform, the brilliant HMI GOT2000 series and the FR-A800 high-end frequency inverter will be presented.

The new compact MELSEC FX5 series, the next generation of the MELSEC FX range with more than 13,000,000 units sold, compared to its successful predecessor, will once more drastically increase system performance and plant productivity. This in turn will significantly reduce total operating costs as well as energy consumption. The compact PLC is also characterised by its particularly high level of functionality.

Mitsubishi Electric will also be showcasing the new modular automation MELSEC iQ-R control concept, the result of the further development of the successful MELSEC iQ Platform. The modular PLC will reduce development costs and is equipped with comprehensive safety functions, improved debugging as well as optimised error recovery. It also offers considerable potential for energy savings.

The powerful FR-A800 high-end frequency inverter is specially designed for use in classic plant and machinery and is the successor to the tried and tested FR-A700 series. Based on the latest technology developments, the drives optimize operating efficiency, energy balance and improve productivity of plants. Equipped with the very latest safety functions and numerous network connections, the FR-A800 inverters are particularly user-friendly where integration and operation are concerned.

The next generation of the HMI GOT series – the GOT2000 – provides an outstanding user-friendly design environment and advanced features, that considerably reduce engineering times and costs, amongst other benefits. In addition, the GT27 GOT model (the direct successor of the GT16) has an intuitive operating concept with multi-touch function and gesture control. For the first time, Mitsubishi Electric will be offering white GOT models, without a USB connection on the front panel, specially designed for the food and beverage industry.

Experience the future live – on stand 380 in hall 7.
