Enhancements for process control applications in the power and water industries include an increase in torque range, improved diagnostics and asset management functionality.A new actuator size in the SQ .2 series more than doubles the torque range previously offered – a significant expansion which now covers 50Nm to 2,400Nm.Additional features and benefits include adoption over a wider torque range without the need for a gearbox which offers a more compact solution. Diagnostics and asset management enhancements include additional temperature and vibration sensors. For enhanced positioning accuracy, and an increased number of permissible starts per hour, an SQR version for modulating duty replaces the SGR. Commissioning and operation of SQ actuators are identical to the SA .2 multi-turn range, introduced by the company in 2010. Both ranges are available with simple AM or microcontroller operated AC integral controls which means that the controls are interchangeable and, at plants where both product series are installed, on-site device management is simplified.
