PROFIBUS & PROFINET International have produced a whitepaper looking at the combined benefits of PROFINET, its Industrial Ethernet communication system based on standard Ethernet, wiht the PROFIdrive drive profile, which is said to form the basis for a high-performance and future-proof drive technology.

This ‘Drive Technology with PROFINET’ has a wide range of applications. Scalable performance with cycle times as short as a few µs, making it a suitable solution for all drive tasks.
