OPC Foundation certifies zenon OPC UA server

03 June 2012

COPA-DATA was one of the first providers to introduce a fully-developed OPC client in July 2009. A year later, the integration of the OPC UA server into zenon followed. This has now been certified by the OPC Foundation.

The international standard OPC UA from the US-based OPC Foundation promises smooth and platform-independent data transfer between different systems.

For example, users of the zenon OPC UA server can exchange encrypted data with a superordinate system (such as MES or ERP) or easily communicate alarm information and acknowledge this information from the superordinate system in zenon.

The zenon OPC UA server protects data from unwanted access by hackers or malware. An integrated encryption technology is said to ensure that the data transferred is not read off or manipulated.

The OPC has tested the zenon OPC UA server in relation to compliance, interoperability, robustness, efficiency and user friendliness. The granting of the official certificate confirms that zenon OPC UA server meets all of the quality criteria defined by the OPC Foundation.
