Infrared weight and moisture sensing added to EXPERION MX range

17 August 2012

Honeywell has extended its Experion Quality Control System (QCS) portfolio with the addition of Transmission Infrared (TRIR) Fiber Weight and Moisture Measurements.

The new sensor is expected to be of particular interest to the tissue production industry where it can help reduce costs and simplify overall operations by providing a more robust measurement of both dry weight and moisture from a single sensor.

The TRIR Fiber Weight and Moisture Measurement halves the number of sensors needed to produce tissue – reducing complexity and cost – while making measurements less sensitive to environmental factors, such as temperature and head alignment. This creates a more reliable measurement of the key product quality parameters. The sensor can also be retrofitted to replace older systems containing nuclear source beta gauges.
