The new sensor is expected to be of particular interest to the tissue production industry where it can help reduce costs and simplify overall operations by providing a more robust measurement of both dry weight and moisture from a single sensor. The TRIR Fiber Weight and Moisture Measurement halves the number of sensors needed to produce tissue – reducing complexity and cost – while making measurements less sensitive to environmental factors, such as temperature and head alignment. This creates a more reliable measurement of the key product quality parameters. The sensor can also be retrofitted to replace older systems containing nuclear source beta gauges.
