ACHEMA 2012 ready to open its doors again

12 June 2012

ACHEMA 2012 will take place from 18 – 22nd June at the Frankfurt Messe. This triennial event offers a global forum for the chemical engineering and process industry worlds to demonstrate the latest technology innovations and offers a networking opportunity for both developers and users from across the process industry.

This year the event attracted around 4,000 exhibitors from 50 countries. A Congress programme runs alongside the exhibition, which includes more than 900 lectures looking at a wide variety of technologies from across the process industry arena.

The fastest-growing exhibition groups at the event this year have been measurement, control and automation, and pharmaceutical, packaging and storage techniques.

In line with industry drivers, one of the focus topics of the event will be the drive for greater energy efficiency. Apart from efficient energy use, energy generation and the development of innovative energy carriers and storage technologies will also be a focus. A second important driver for innovation is the gradual shift from fossil to renewable resources and the virtual platform, ‘BiobasedWorld at ACHEMA’, aims to provide a forum for discussion about new scientific findings as well as the development of appropriate processing technologies where biotechnology plays an important role.

Details about some of the exhibitors that can be seen at the exhibition are provided in the special ACHEMA product section in this week’s newsletter below.
