Hygienically designed enclosures

15 May 2012

Rittal’s Hygienic Design (HD) enclosures feature a protection category of IP69K for applications where there is an emphasis on stringent hygiene requirements and ease of cleaning.

The stainless steel enclosures are available in a number of sizes and utilise Rittal’s HD system accessories. Features include simple cleaning with inclined surfaces of 3° on all sides and 10° on the front cover to prevent debris remaining on the enclosure surfaces; an all round gap free silicone seal between enclosure door or cover; seam free construction and hygiene compliant hexagon locks and fixings.

For easy assembly and maintenance, standard items include captive quick release cover locks on terminal boxes and a one-piece easily replaceable silicone seal as well as interchangeable door hinges internal to the enclosure. For component installation and greater flexibility internal rails are supplied with 6.25mm hole pitch, KL support rails that can be fitted directly and in the compact enclosure, a mounting plate.
