Holroyd Components - Industrial heating elements

06 December 2011

Holroyd Components have been manufacturers of industrial electric heating elements since 1972, specialising in drum heating equipment, which are specifically designed for melting or reducing the viscosity of many different materials or for protection against freezing conditions.

Holroyd have a large range of drum and container heating equipment, meaning that whatever problem, we’ve got the solution. Our standard heaters suit 25L, 50L, 105L and 200L drums. We offer high power base heaters for aggressive heating as well as low watt density insulated heating jackets for delicate substances.

Manufacturers of silicone rubber surface heaters as well as drum, container and IBC heating systems. Service covers the full spectrum of advice and prototyping through to full-scale production including problem solving applications to supplying major OEM manufacturers. We manufacture in both wire wound and etch foil element. The etch foil technology has expanded to include Kapton insulation materials.

Drum Heaters
The Holroyd range of drum heaters provides a solution for melting or reducing the viscosity of materials or as protection against freezing. The range covers the complete spectrum from low powered, gentle warm-up heater jackets through to high impact, rapid warm-up silicone heater belts and base heaters. Supplied from stock all products are available on a next day service. Bespoke products to customer requirements can be designed and manufactured within just a few days.

HSSD Drum Heaters
The ideal solution to heating products contained in steel drums, the silicone side heater reduces the viscosity of materials such as soaps, fats, foodstuffs, varnishes and chemicals allowing them to be pumped or poured with ease. Products are marked with identification and batch numbers giving full manufacturing traceability. Branding with the client details and logo is available upon request.

HISD Drum Heaters
A simple and effective heating solution for all types of drums, particularly plastic containers as the jacket provides a gentle and efficient heating system. These jackets are ideally suited for the warming of a variety of products including fats, oils and foodstuffs. Used throughout the world by a multitude of industries from pharmaceutical to chemical, cosmetic to food, the HISD heater is the ideal solution for heating liquid materials stored in metal or plastic drums.

HBD Drum Heaters
The HBD heater is specifically designed for melting or reducing the viscosity of soaps, fats, waxes, varnishes and oil based type of products. The diameter of the base enables use on all sizes of drums up to 45 gallons (200L). Heat is provided by a 900W silicone rubber insulated heater mat, providing an even distribution of heat to the base. If a rapid heat up is required than side drum heaters can be used in conjunction with the HBD

HIBC/B Heaters
Providing an efficient heating system the HIBC/B jackets are ideal for reducing the viscosity of a variety of products including fats, oils and foodstuffs, to enable the decanting of the product into smaller containers or process lines. Used throughout the world by a multitude of industries from pharmaceutical to chemical, cosmetic to food, the HIBC/B heater is the ideal solution for heating liquid materials stored in intermediate bulk containers. An unheated insulation lid is also available.

Silicone Wire Wound Heaters
Advantages of Wire Wound - Using evenly spaced resistance wires laminated between sheets of silicone, wire wound mats are ideal for prototyping or problem solving applications. Manufactured to customer specifications they can be made in a limitless range of shapes and sizes. High flexibility can be obtained using tough, robust silicone materials which are finding ever increasing applications in the industry. Silicone’s wide temperature range, tolerance of -60 to +230 °C and superb electrical properties give it a distinct advantage over other forms of heating.

Silicone Etch Foil Heaters
Advantages of Etch Foil -Computer designed chemically etched foil tracks are laminated between thin sheets of silicone to give precise even heating. Suitable for low and high volume production etched foil heaters have rapid heat up properties with precise temperature control. Heating solutions are available in a limitless range of etch foil heaters to customer specification for multiple industries.

Applications
Holroyd supply silicone heaters for a multitude of applications including industrial catering, battery warming, environmental control or electronics, composite repair of aircraft, laboratory equipment, anti-condensation and GRP pipe curing systems. The uses for silicone heater mats are infinite as they can suit any application requiring surface heating up to 230°C. Their suitability for arduous conditions has been proven in applications from polar expedition to space exploration.
