iPhone used to programme and control industrial robot

19 September 2011

A video from the industrial automation department of the Institute for Machine Tools and Manufacturing in Germany shows an iPhone 3G being used to remotely programme and control a Kuka KR6 industrial robot.

The iPhone’s accelerometer has been employed, so that tilting the phone to one side sets of an instruction to the robot. This is demonstrated around 2 mins and 30 seconds into the video.
