Electrical linear actuator now available from Nanotec in a new 56 mm size

Good sliding properties thanks to threaded bushing made of high-performance plastic

Nanotec Electronic GmbH & Co. KG, represented in the UK by Alldrives & Controls, has extended the upper range of its electrical linear motors, with the L5918 model (56 mm, Nema 23).

The low-friction threaded drive bushing is made of a high-performance thermoplastic material; the model is distinguished by its compatibility with Plug & Drive motors such as the PD4-N. This makes the simplified designing of efficient, integrated linear systems possible.

A system integrator has to decide whether to use a hydraulic, pneumatic or electrical linear drive. Flexible motor design and low service requirements speak in favour of an electrical drive, as no

The L5918 step resolution is 0.01 mm in full step, in micro-step and with an encoder, resolutions of up to 0.001 mm can be attained.

A 2mm pitch, 200 mm long lead screw ( or longer on request) is available for the L5918 linear actuator for external clamping systems or with an anti-rotational-safeguarded pushrod, as a ready-to-install linear positioning drive, for highly dynamic and rigid machine designs or multi-motor operation.

The L5918 is closed Loop-capable and can be operated as a high-pole servomotor, together with an encoder (available as a standard option) and appropriate controller with field-oriented control.

As a customer-specific variant, the L5918 can be supplied with an integrated controller, similar to the PD4-N Plug & Drive motor.

Linear axis, motor, encoder and controller coupling, creates a compact unit for linear positioning. This compactness is a major advantage, particularly where manual format adjustment is to be automated in existing machinery.

All hybrid linear actuators from Nanotec, use threaded bushings made of polyetheretherketone high-performance plastic, extremely wear-resistant, even when subjected to high thermal and mechanical loading.

Nanotec offer significantly better sliding properties compared to conventional threaded bushings made of bronze, less friction and they are nearly twice as efficient. The motor's life cycle is higher and the maintenance effort is less, thanks to the self-lubricating nuts.

auxiliary units are required. Nanotec developed the L5918 linear actuator on the basis of its high-torque stepper motors, making it compatible with all of Nanotech’s standard stepper motors. At up to 1000 N thrust, the force coupling is carried out directly in the hollow shaft motor.
