“With some of our customers sub-contracting up to 90% of their labour, they rely on supplier companies to support their environmental and safety standards,” said Mark Dutton, vice president of Emerson’s Daniel Measurement and Control, Europe. “The OHSAS 18001 accreditation, together with the ISO 14001 environment accreditation, will give confidence that working with us will ensure that these companies achieve their OHSE and environmental goals.”OHSAS 18001 defines the requirements for an occupational health and safety management system that will enable an organisation to identify and control its OH&S risks and to continually improve its performance in that area. Achieving OHSAS 18001 certification recognises the strengths of Emerson as a supplier that shares the same health and safety standards as its customers. The certification programme is part of a wider expansion plan for the Daniel division’s European headquarters.
