AUTOMATICA 2012 moves to May

15 February 2011

CEE has been told that the next AUTOMATICA exhibition will take place earlier in the year than usual. Instead of being in June, AUTOMATICA 2012 will take place at the New Munich Trade Fair in May - from Tuesday, 22 May, until Friday, 25 May 2012.

The organisers are upbeat about the event, with news that registrations are already up on previous events and it is expecting that the event will spread over five halls in 2012, instead of four. This encouraging news for the event follows the VDMA Robotics + Automation prediction, late in 2010, that the automation industry will achieve a strong two-figure growth rate in 2011.

A congress will be held in 2011, in advance of the trade fair - Green Automation, which was a great success at the last AUTOMATICA. On 29 March 2011, the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) is holding the technology forum "Produce Green - in a Green Way" which will discuss the challenges of resource efficiency in collaboration with VDMA Robotics and Automation and Messe Muenchen. This event takes place in Stuttgart and will provide information in a about the new guidelines from Brussels on energy and resource efficiency. Users from the automotive industry will talk about their objectives and experiences with respect to resource-saving measures. Suppliers such as Kuka and Festo will demonstrate ways of developing more efficient automation components and systems. In addition, there will be a variety of technical topics discussed.
