CC-Link may help open the door to the Asian region

04 January 2011

The latest figures show that CLPA membership has exceeded 1,400 companies with over 1,000 CC-Link certified products now available from 200 different vendors worldwide.

As an indication of the openness of CC-Link, there are now 7 manufacturers making 20 different network master stations, with 21 manufacturers making I/O devices and also 24 different variable speed drive (VSD) manufacturers making interfaces.

CC-Link is now recognised and accepted globally as an open field network. This has prompted many companies to acknowledge that developing a CC-Link interface has been good for their global business. Despite the present economic climate, the demand from Asia for high performance European products and equipment continues. As the leading open network in this region, CC-Link is a requirement on many end-user checklists, and without a CC-Link interface, equipment producers risk missing out on business from the region.
