SPS/IPC/DRIVES event reflects an industry upswing

12 October 2010

CEE has been told that bookings for SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2010 have already exceeded the final figure for last year’s event, which is said to represent a welcome upswing in the industry.

It is estimated that the 2010 event will play host to around 1,300 companies, who will present a range of products and services and innovations at the event, which takes place in Nuremberg from 23rd to 25th November.

SPS/IPC/DRIVES offers a venue for the industry to present the full range of electric automation technology to an international trade audience. All the major players will be at SPS/IPC/DRIVES 2010. This year, the special theme of the exhibition and its forums will be energy efficiency, industrial identification and safety and security.

The joint stands ‘Wireless in Automation’, ‘Open source meets industry’ and ‘AMA Center for Sensor, Measuring and Testing Technologies’ will also offer visitors a chance to gain an instant overview of each of these important topics.

This year’s conference will present two Young Engineer Awards for the first time, one to each of the best contributions from the Automation and Drives sectors. The official prize reception will take place at a special evening event on 24 November 2010.

Factory automation, electric drives and industrial communications will be the main topics at the accompanying conference.

The recently expanded Nuremberg exhibition and congress centre has received much praise recently. Around €100m has been invested in the expansion programme in the past two years. The result is an impressive and spacious new central area and two modern congress centres which provide a total capacity of 11,000 seats.
