Rockwell gets TÜV thumbs up for e-stop buttons

27 July 2010

Rockwell Automation has earned TÜV certification for the B10d Functional Safety rating on all styles of Allen-Bradley emergency-stop push buttons. The certification shores up the company’s claims that its e-stop components bolster worker safety and increase productivity.

E-stop push buttons are a critical component for automation systems – they are used to cease motion to help prevent injury to workers or damage to machinery. For example, in an emergency that might escalate into a hazardous situation, an operator would press the e-stop button to stop the machine or equipment, preventing further risk to the worker or the system.

The Allen-Bradley e-stop buttons were rigorously tested with evaluation, verification and confirmation by third-party TÜV Rheinland, an international service group documenting the safety and quality of products, systems and services.
