Relief valve prevents low pressure damage

22 June 2010

Brownell Ltd have introduced a large range of pressure relief valves to prevent damaging pressure differentials in a wide range of industrial applications.

Flow rate requirements from just 0.1 litre/min up to10,000 litres/min depending on the applications and maximum allowable differential pressures.

Pressure relief valves are used for preventing the pressures and vacuums that can be destructive or cause malfunctions in equipment containers, storage vessels and pressure sensitive instruments.

In the event of increasing pressure due to system malfunction or environmental heating (or cooling). The relief valves will open at the set point and relieve the pressure of air or gas until a safe working level is achieved. The relief valves automatically reset when the re-seat level is reached and continues to maintain a safer working level.

The use of pressure relief valves allows designers to construct enclosures and instruments in light weight materials using the relief valves to maintain safe working pressures.

Pressure relief valves are available in a range of materials including metals and plastics.
Weather proof protection is also an available option to protect against driving rain and high pressure hosing.

Relief valves can be used on cargo containers being transported by air. They can be set to prevent an in flight hazard in the event of pressurisation failure or system malfunction.

Most Pressure Relief Valves are factory set, some may set on installation.
