PPMA tackles new Machinery Directive

27 April 2010

PPMA has announced a further two seminars in a bid to help the industry tackle the new Machinery Directive that came into force December 29, 2009. In association with industrial safety and compliance specialists, Laidler Associates, the Processing and Packaging Machinery Association (PPMA) will hold both additional seminars in Northampton, UK.

The seminars will be held on May 13 and June 24, 2010 at the Marriot Hotel in Northampton. Each one day seminar provides an overview of what the actual changes are and in addition to presenting the seminar, Laidler Associates’ consultants will be on hand to give advice and guidance on specific queries.

The full-day seminars include information on subjects such as ‘Partially Complete Machines’, ‘Changes to Health and Safety Requirements’, ‘Application to Modified Machinery’, ‘New Conformity Assessment Procedures’ and ‘Technical File Composition’.

The Laidler Group is the PPMA’s official partner for regulatory affairs and its preferred supplier of technical consultancy services.

Paul Laidler, managing director of the Laidler Group, said there was still a lot of confusion and surrounding the new directive.

“In partnership with the PPMA we are able to provide delegates to the seminars with the necessary knowledge and tools they require in order for them to ensure that their company is doing everything they must to comply with the new directive,” he concluded.
