Emerson Process Management has expanded its presence in the Middle East, making its flow metering management services available from offices in Dubai. The expansion of its measurement services organisation (METCO) will offer companies in the region flow measurement support, consultancy, auditing and training.

“Our experienced engineers, auditors and technicians will offer both offsite and onsite support in the region, performing audits and health checks of metering systems as well as offering a range of training courses to improve the skills and competencies of our customers’ own maintenance and operations teams,” said Mark McCready, business development manager for Emerson’s METCO Services.

Emerson’s Total Metering Management (TMM) contracts, provided by METCO, are designed to deliver timely, accurate data on its clients’ process throughput. Key performance measures are agreed upon up front to ensure the systems are managed according to the clients’ business drivers. Metering technicians are specialists and, to recognise this, Emerson build an exit strategy in to some TMM contracts, especially those in developing markets. The exit strategy involves training site personnel to take over the operation of the site’s metering facilities.
