Israeli power plant extension

17 December 2009

A 250 MW Gas fired power plant in Tzafit, Israel is adding a steam turbine to its process to increase capacity to 370 MW. Germany based GEA Group will design, manufacture and supply an air cooled condenser.

The capacity increase is hoped to also boost the efficiency of the power plant.

"This new order from Israel continues the successful co-operation of GEA with power plant operators in the country that started almost 30 years ago and has led to a substantial share of plants that use GEA components", said Jörg Jeliniewski, division president of GEA Thermal Engineering, which is part of GEA´s Energy and Farm Technology Segment.
