A-Safe – putting people first at Rexam France

10 August 2009

A-Safe, the Halifax-based plastic barrier manufacturer, has recently worked successfully with Rexam France to maintain and develop personnel safety at the company’s Lacq plant.

This involved the installation of A-Safe pedestrian barriers throughout the 14,000 sq metre production hall to effectively segregate the 180-strong workforce from vehicle traffic. Rexam took the decision to opt for A-Safe products, after seeing them in use at the Rexam drinks can plant at Waterford.

Says Hubert de Mijolla, technical manager: 'Since installation, A-Safe has helped to create a low-hazard working environment, separating the circulation of pedestrians and forklift trucks and restricting the crossing to designated crosswalk as it is not possible to jump over or squeeze between the barriers. That’s really important when you’ve got up to 50 people on site at the same time. At the same time, the barriers are smart and attractive and really enhance the company’s professional image.'
