The new generation of Vegapuls instruments has an extended temperature range to 450 °C. The higher chemical resistance of the antennas gives it a much wider application spectrum.Vega says its new products were developed based on its experience with more than 200,000 radar level instruments installed in the worldwide field. There are additional housing versions, an and optimised connection concept.Vega says it has simplified the setup and commissioning by making the adjustment parameters clearer and easier to use. “Ultrafast” microprocessors provide more power for signal analysis and enable complex processing algorithms. This, says Vega, “allow a never-before realised signal evaluation and a better differentiation between product level and vessel installations.”The more powerful electronics make the radar sensors better adapted to the requirements of newer applications and industries. They can, for example, follow the rapid level changes of smaller tanks. It has been a market trend for the past 10 years to use radar for measuring the liquid levels in smaller vessels and buffer tanks in process and batch automation. With their short filling and emptying cycles, it has been difficult for radar sensors to measure them accurately.Vega wants to assure its customers that during development of the plics®plus instruments, importance was given to ensuring complete compatibility between existing and new instrument adjustment. “Everything fits together: new sensors and existing adjustment software and vice versa, new radar electronics and existing housings and antenna systems.”
