Drawing from over 50 years of application experience, Endress+Hauser says it has developed the new Pressure M Class for the mid price/performance segment. The new transmitter family includes three members: the Cerabar M pressure transmitter, the Deltapilot M hydrostatic pressure sensor, and the Deltabar M differential pressure transmitter.************************************Photo, L to R: Cerabar M, Deltabar M, Deltapilot M************************************Uniformity in construction makes it possible to greatly reduce device inventory in plants and warehouses, says E+H. The menu guidance system make commissioning easier—something previous generations didn’t have. A wide range of approvals paves the way for international usage and makes system planning easier. Replaceable electronic inserts with 4 to 20 mA with or without HART, Profibus PA or Foundation Fieldbus facilitate integration into all common systems. FOR ALL APPLICATIONSM-Class relative pressure, absolute pressure and differential pressure measuring cells are used in all types of gases, steams and liquids. While measuring cells are available for every application, particular attention has been paid to the rugged ceramic measuring cell Ceraphire® and the condensate-resistant measuring cell CONTITETM.The ceramic Ceraphire® measuring cell is a dry, capacitive ceramic measuring cell whose high purity level of 99.9 % allows it to be used for extremely corrosive media. The oil-free, self-monitoring design facilitates precise and accurate value analysis, ranging from the lowest of pressures to absolute high-vacuum ranges.*******************************Photo: Rod version of Deltapilot M*******************************In contrast to conventional relative pressure measuring cells which are open to the surrounding environment due to pressure compensation, the CONTITETM measuring cell is hermetically sealed from the environment with the patented condensate-tight (CONTITE) sensor. The entire measuring cell is welded gas-tight, and even the power cables are routed into the cell via gas-tight glass feedthroughs. This excludes the possibility of moisture penetration and any associated interference in measuring operations. With intelligent diaphragm control and integrated temperature compensation, the measuring cell is extremely sensitive and reacts quickly even in the event of fluctuations in temperature as can occur in sterilisation processes.Furthermore, users can choose from piezoresistive metal measuring cells for large measuring ranges of up to 400 bar, and fully welded diaphragm seals with minimum oil volume for high temperatures up to 400 °C. THE RIGHT CONNECTIONSFor installation in pipes or containers, compact versions of the entire M-Class family are available with all common thread and flange connections. All material types are also available, including stainless steel, alloy, tantalum or diverse types of material coating. Hygienic connections such as DIN 11864, Neumo BioControl or Varivent are just some of the examples of the wide range of gap-free connections available for the hygienic food and pharmaceutical sector. The materials and connections used comply with the strict requirements of EHEDG and 3A standards. Pressure sensors that hang freely into the liquid from above by a cable or metal rod are indispensable when working with open tanks, liquid basins or open channels. A steel wire braid in the cable increases the stability of the cable to such an extent that even lengths of up to 200 meters are possible without the need for additional support.
