Drax Power boosts gas analysis

20 April 2009

A UK based coal power station is attempting to optimise its burn mix and save fuel, turning to Servomex for eight Servotough Fluegas (2700) units. Drax Power installed the gas analysers to measure O2 and COe on combustion boilers in its Selby, Yorkshire plant.

Drax engineers hope to be able to control the optimum burn mix more accurately, thus saving fuel, enabling cost savings and improving emissions quality.

Servomex will provide full service and support, including installation and commissioning.

“With this installation Servomex is proud to actively contribute to Drax’s status as the cleanest and most efficient coal-fired power station in the UK,” said Chris Cottrell, managing director of Servomex.

“Servomex has been a pleasure to work with and the contract was professionally project managed with a flexible approach,” concluded Peter Muff, project manager at Drax Power.
