In addition to giving the pressure reading, the digital gauges incorporate “value-added features” to advance the way pressure is measured and recorded. They have features that dial gauges don’t have, such as a backlit LCD, selectable engineering units and min/max recall. Some have an analogue current output and onboard switches. These capabilities are not new to pressure instrumentation, but until now they require several different instruments to achieve. The digital pressure gauges are available in variety of sizes, accuracies and price ranges to suit a broad spectrum of applications. The commercial Type D1005PS is a 2 ½ inch (64 mm) gauge with ±0.5% FS (full scale) accuracy. The industrial Types 2074, 2174 and 2274 are 3 inch (76 mm) and 4 ½ inch (114 mm) gauges. They are rated at ±0.25% FS and are available with 4-20 mA output and on-board SPDT switches. The 3 inch (76 mm) Type 2089 test gauge tops off the line with an accuracy of ±0.05% FS and a five full-digit display. For more information, visit the Ashcroft website at www.ashcroft.com.
