Volvo Powertrain awards Danaher Motion contract to develop hybrid heavy-duty vehicles

02 October 2008

Electric motors and drives will be included in hybrid heavy-duty vehicles from the Volvo Group to improve fuel efficiency.

Danaher Motion, as part of a development and production agreement with Volvo Group, will produce electrical motors and drives to produce mechanical power for the vehicles.

Record high fuel prices and legislative action requiring improved emissions standards have accelerated the global demand for fuel efficient and environmentally sound vehicles, the company says.
