Generators head for Africa as MTN expands

13 August 2008

Yorpower Manufacturing generators are heading to Uganda as MTN, Africa’s largest mobile telecommunications company, develops its network and expands.

The Yorkshire headquartered power generation specialist will supply 30 generators under the first phase of the project.

Guy Phoenix, of Yorpower, said: ‘We have previously supplied generators to telecommunication companies in several African countries, but this is the first time we have broken into the important Ugandan market. We believe this will allow us to maintain our position as one of the premier suppliers to the Mobile Telecommunications market.’

The generators are due to be delivered later this year.
