HMI report from ARC

11 August 2008

A lack of internal personnel has prompted HMI software suppliers to add services at an accelerated rate, according to a study by the ARC Advisory Group.

The report also said supervisory HMI software, used to support HMI software functionality, such as configuration, runtime, connectivity, control and alarm management, had the fastest growth of any HMI software type.

ARC said whilst Windows XP was the fastest growing operating system, in terms of revenue, Windows CE was the fastest growing in terms of units.

The report pinpointed Asia as having the best regional development for software suppliers, but added North America and EMEA had experienced strong growth.

ARC predicted Asia Pacific and Latin America as the fastest growing HMI software markets.
