The French company announced the acquisition on July 28, 2008 and claimed Xantrex was a ‘top three’ global player in the solar and wind inverter market.

Renewable energy has been pinpointed as a likely business for continued growth, with demand driven by the increasing cost of fossil energy, environmental concerns and financial incentives.

Xantrex is focused on the inverter, the entry point for solar and wind systems solutions, which convert raw electrical power from renewable energy generators into grid-worthy power.
