Water company in motor overhaul

UK based South West Water hopes to increase efficiency and maximise asset life at its sites, over the next few years, as its replaces old and obsolete geared motors with Siemens units.

Mike Kinsey, technical support manager for South West Water, said he chose the Flender Motox geared motors, incorporating eff1 motors from Siemens, for their reliability and low maintenance requirements.

‘We’re delighted South West Water has selected these high-efficiency units,’ said Andrew Reeks, account manager at Siemens.

‘This latest success, alongside wining the motor contract for high efficiency Siemens motors in 2007, now partners South West Water and Siemens in best practice for these products.’
