Collaborative robot family launched
10 December 2018
Omron has introduced the TM series collaborative robot family to realise a manufacturing environment where humans and machines work in harmony.
Omron's TM series allows for easy install of a robot to automate applications such as picking, packing, and screwdriving that have traditionally been performed by humans. As part of the launch, Omron has released a ‘mobile-compatible’ model, which seamlessly integrates into the its LD series autonomous mobile robot. This will enable users to automate more complex tasks such as pick and place onto a tray or container, and to connect production processes with the autonomous mobile robots for flexible manufacturing.
There are 12 robots in the TM series with a combination of the following specifications – Arm length of 900mm, 1100mm or 1300mm; Payload of 4kg, 6kg, 12kg or 14kg; Power supply AC or DC; and either conforming or not conforming to SEMI S2 Safety Guidelines.
Three key features of the TM series include a intuitive programming interface reduces programming time an integrated on-arm vision system reduces setup time and conformance Confrms to all human-machine collaborative safety standards reducing installation time.
