Pumps go green with Stator

11 April 2008

A year on from the launch of its iFD-stator, Netzsch Pumps has announced it is fitting the product, as standard, to all NM series pumps with a nominal rotor diameter between 21mm and 63mm. The pump manufacturer, which has its UK base in Walsall, claims fitting the German Environmental Foundation-endorsed stator is a positive move for capacity, economy and environmental protection.

The iFD-Stator, which is compatible with all NEMO pumps from the NM series, has a separate housing, which means, when worn, only the stator needs to be replaced and is therefore more easily disposed of.

The company claims reduced initial breakaway torque allows for the selection of smaller pump drives, thereby reducing investment costs and energy consumption. Also, an optional regulator is tipped to extend stator and rotor life because the stator can be infinitely adjusted to process parameters such as temperature, working pressure and continuous wear compensation.

Commenting for Netzsch Pumps, environmental applications engineer Keren Booker, said: ‘As well as being environmentally friendly in its manufacture, the iFD Stator is also service friendly, requires minimum maintenance and improves plant safety.’
