04 May 2018

With the introduction of mobiLink, Softing says it is the first company to offer access to the HART, Foundation Fieldbus and PROFIBUS PA process automation protocols with one single interface. mobiLink communicates via USB or Bluetooth and is suited to commissioning and maintenance with handheld host devices.

mobiLink is said to simplify mobile access to field devices for plant operators, system integrators and device developers. In combination with the relevant software it is suitable for configuration, commissioning, diagnostics and monitoring. FDT Frame Applications and major engineering tools are supported.

It is battery-operated, robust and suitable for use in explosive areas. It communicates with handheld host devices like smart phones and tablets via Bluetooth and has a USB interface for bench host operation.

“With mobiLink our customers can access field devices with maximum flexibility and mobility and carry out a large number of configuration tasks,” said Thomas Hilz, program marketing manager at Softing Industrial.
