Pandelco praises PSJ for ‘minimal delays’

PSJ Fabrications and Pandelco have joined forces to provide 55 cubicle sections with pre-coppered incoming switches and buscouplers for a chemical-industry control project. Bedford based PSJ has manufactured four large MCC steelwork suites for the Burton-on-Trent MCC manufacturer.

The cubicles, following fitting out and wiring by Pandelco, incorporate 150 power circuits ranging from fuseswitch feeders to direct on-line starters. Fifty single and dual variable speed drives communicate with the control system using Devicenet Cable.

Operations director of Pandelco said, because the company was familiar with PSJ’s standard designs, there were ‘minimal delays’.

Paul Grocott said: ‘This achieved our wiring of pre-made backplate equipment in parallel with PSJ’s fabrication of the cubicle shells and copperwork, followed by the integration in our Burton works’.

Grocott concluded: ‘Pandelco normally produces its own cubicles and busbars but by using PSJ, whom we knew to be reliable in terms of quality and delivery, we were able to outsource a major element of the project whilst continuing to fulfil the ongoing requirements of our regular customers in-house’.
