The key feature is the carefully chosen operating waveband, which minimises reflection errors that can produce inaccurate temperature readings in less sophisticated instruments. It is now equipped with Bluetooth wireless technology so data can be stored on a logger or on a Bluetooth-enabled portable computer. The external display panel shows four simultaneous measurements within the range 450 to 1400ºC.
