The Bamberg, Germany, headquartered company said wieplan 3.0, a software tool for configuring DIN rail terminal block assemblies using Wieland components, would close a gap in the engineering chain.Wieplan 3.0 features a bi-directional interface with ePLAN CAE engineering Software & Service. The process for selecting the right terminal block and accessories, designing the DIN rail and optimising space and flexibility through to completing all the documentation and drawings, has traditionally made control panel planning a laborious process. It is not administered in Eplan but now, when the terminal connection points have been defined the user can simply export this assignment to wieplan where the control-panel-ready DIN rail can be configured. The software works with a project structure and the planner is guided step by step through each stage. It provides search and filtering functions and there are plausibility checks to prevent mistakes. Once the completed terminal blocks with all data including terminal type, item number, accessories and identification are defined in wieplan they can be seamlessly transferred back to ePLAN.
