Schneider drives into motion control

10 January 2007

Schneider Electric has launched 13 new drives as part of its push into the motion control arena.

The Telemecanique Lexium 05 entry level drives cover capacities from 0.4kW to 6kW with motor speeds up to 6000 rev/min.

Industry standard interfaces, such as CANopen, enable the Lexium 05 to be linked with other controls. In addition, when coupled with the company’s BSH low inertia servo motors the drive provides a solution for point to point positioning, torque or speed regulation, electronic shaft, and manual jog functions.

Set up and configuration are managed by PowerSuite software and the motor is automatically recognised by the drive when connected. Once coupled up to the load, the auto-tune function can be used for optimising the drive parameters for that axis.
