Rockwell buys ProsCon

Rockwell Automation, on 1 February 2007, acquired Ireland-based engineering company, ProsCon Holdings.

ProsCon serves the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets and has offices in Cork and Dublin, Ireland. It helps companies comply with regulatory standards and manage their business risk.

The purchase follows Rockwell acquisitions of Propack Data, Datasweep and Caribbean Integration Engineers.

Bob Honor, vice president of life sciences at Rockwell, said: “This acquisition is a vital step in increasing our global solutions delivery capability to life sciences and process automation customers in Ireland and the rest of the world.”

Management and employees of ProsCon will join Rockwell.

“The acquisition will strongly enhance ProsCon’s ability to deliver innovative design solutions and technology to customers,” said Niall Foley, managing director of ProsCon. “By combining ProsCon’s process industry knowledge with the technical expertise, broad product portfolio, distribution channels, and financial resources of Rockwell Automation, we will strengthen our ability to serve customers.”

Terry Gebert, vice president and general manager of manufacturing and process solutions at Rockwell, concluded: “ProsCon further increases our broad range of process solutions from completely integrated turnkey projects to standalone control systems and now with special capabilities in modular design/fast track implementation.”
