FANUC celebrates grand opening of Ansty Park facility

22 May 2017

FANUC, the global manufacturer of factory automation solutions, celebrated the grand opening of its new facility at Ansty Park, Coventry, on Tuesday 16th May. The 107,000 sq ft facility hosted more than 300 guests, including overseas staff, customers, members of the press, government figures, and representatives from the Embassy of Japan in London.

Speeches were given by President and CEO of FANUC Corporation Dr Yoshiharu Inaba, CEO of FANUC Europe Shinichi Tanzawa, and Managing Director of FANUC UK Tom Bouchier.  Guests were then treated to a “kabuki drop” backed by an instrumental version of Led Zeppelin’s “Kashmir”, which revealed FANUC’s new showroom displaying a range of robots and industrial machines.

Guests also received tours of the new facility, including the workshop, conference room, and FANUC’s purpose-built academy, which holds more than £300,000 worth of new equipment.

The facility is the result of more than £19million of investment, and is four times larger than FANUC’s previous facility on the Seven Stars Industrial Estate.  It also provides FANUC UK with the opportunity to increase capacity in the future, with 25 per cent expansion capability.

Tom Bouchier, Managing Director of FANUC UK, said: “I’ve been very pleased with the outcome of this event.  We’ve had more than 300 guests here from every industry and application in UK manufacturing.

“Our new headquarters represents a new approach for FANUC UK, with all parts of our business brought together under one roof for the first time in the UK.  By consolidating these functions, we can enhance our capabilities and provide customers with a combination of solutions to meet their every need.”
