Emerson's new Langenfeld offices, in Germany, showcases automation technology innovations that harness the power of the Industrial Internet of Things to transform business performance in an Industry 4.0 environment.

Emerson Automation Solutions has opened its new office to showcase the latest automation technology that can help manufacturers and process companies achieve operational excellence through a programme Emerson calls Operational Certainty.

Operational Certainty is an innovative technology and engineering-based programme designed to help industrial companies achieve Top Quartile performance – defined as achieving operations and capital performance in the top 25% of peer companies. The facility provides Emerson customers with access to a range of testing, training and demonstration facilities, giving them first-hand experience of innovative Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology that can improve their operational performance and put them on the path to achieving Top Quartile status.

The education and training facilities enable customers to gain experience with control and safety systems and measurement and control devices, showing how this technology can help them run operations more safely, reliably and efficiently. A demonstration centre enables customers to explore new ways of managing remote operations and enabling easier collaboration with experts located anywhere in the world. It also allows customers to observe aspects of Emerson’s Plantweb digital ecosystem – a scalable portfolio of hardware, software, intelligent devices and services, which provides the technology foundation for companies to securely implement IIoT applications. The facility also includes a dedicated area for performing factory acceptance testing of control and safety systems.
