Complex kinematics, easy operation

08 March 2016

B&R has expanded its portfolio of modular mapp software components with the map RoboX and mapp Teach which aim to speed up robotic systems configuration and preparation for operation.

mapp RoboX can be used to control any kinematic system with up to 15 axes. It offers design freedom to developers, while still providing convenience. The robot is said to be simple to parameterise, with visualisation and diagnostics already on board. This saves time during both development and during operation.

Further, mapp Teach provides teach-in functionality to define and manage robot movement sequences.

mapp technology consists of individually encapsulated blocks designed to streamline the development of new applications. The components provide basic functionality that can be configured graphically – which is said to cut development times by an average of 67%. All mapp components are connected via mapp links. Each mapp component retrieves the data it needs from other components using a client-server model.
