Entry-level Fast Ethernet industrial switches

14 July 2015

Belden has recently introduced the RED25 family of entry-level, Fast Ethernet redundancy switches which are designed for use in industrial automation applications that demand cost-effective redundant network solutions.

The focus on redundancy is said to make these switches a good fit for use in the automotive, manufacturing and machine building industries where automation systems tend to be part of the network infrastructure. When a system failure occurs, it most often happens within the network and causes service interruptions. RED25’s redundancy technology can reduce the effects of these failures, ensuring consistent communication and keeping plants operating.

In addition to supporting a variety of redundancy technologies, the switches also have built-in security features to provide reliable protection against network attacks or operating errors.

With the new switches the company is aiming to provide industrial network engineers, system integrators and machine builders with an entry-level device at an affordable price. It is said to be a suitable choice for applications that need an entry-level redundancy switch that is designed for operation in extreme environmental conditions.
