05 May 2015

Schneider Electric has released the Tricon CX compact system for safety and critical control applications. Primarily it is aimed at the oil and gas, power, refining, chemicals, pharmaceutical and biotech industries, where safety and reliability are critical.

The ISA Secure certified Tricon CX is believed to be the world’s first functional safety and security certified system (by TÜV Rheinland), aimed at helping protect against external threats such as cyber-attack, while ensuring operational integrity and protecting against inherent risk and hazards.

The latest addition to the company’s safety-instrumented systems, the Tricon CX is designed to be smaller, faster, lighter, more compact and more powerful than previous safety solutions.

Some of the new features include 67% reduction in weight; lower power consumption; advanced monitoring and control capabilities; 300% increase in controller tag capacity and automated test and verification of safety logic.
