ATEX certified air motors

02 December 2014

The P1V-M air motor range, from Parker, has been extended to offer two new power ratings with ATEX certification.

Parker Hannifin has extended its P1V-M air vane motors range to include two new sizes –900 and 1200 watts – combined with new ATEX (II 2 GD C IIC T4) certified variants and a non-gearbox derivative.  The P1V-M series is now said to represent the largest power range available in the global market.
The compact design of the P1V-M makes it suitable for deployment in a range of industries including machine building, food & beverage (non in contact area), packaging & conveying, and the chemical industry. Its compact design also helps to reduce machine build footprint.

The motor is also said to be suitable for use in harsh environments, under extremes of vibration and operating at temperatures between -20 and +110ºC. Similarly, the air motor can be used in hazardous environments hence the ATEX (II 2 GD C IIC T4) certification.
Designed and manufactured from robust materials the motors feature a patented Vane Change system which is said to minimise machine downtime.  When it comes to service and maintenance the motor can be left in situ, all the customer needs to do is to loosen the screws that hold the rear piece to the motor, remove the vanes if they are worn and insert new ones.
