Server cabinet features biometric recognition

22 April 2014

EMKA, a manufacturer of closure technology, offers a simple and safe solution for server cabinet security with its new touch technology.

Biometric recognition via fingerprint is a feature that is being used in a variety of security applications today. For example, fingerprint technology is now used on the latest generation of smartphones. It is now also possible to protect individual server cabinets and complete data centres with similar technology.

Emka Touch combines the biometric recognition of its US-American technology partners DB Access Security with the proven mechanical closure technology. Software is connected with the scanner integrated in the handle, which manages all fingerprints fail-safe with the respectively related access rights.

In addition, a multitude of status information for each step is recorded and stored.
