Light grids with predefined measuring options

25 March 2014

The new LGM Series measuring light grid from Pepperl+Fuchs is the latest addition to the company’s range of automation lightgrids.

A feature of the range is the inclusion of 16 predefined integrated measuring options.
Users can select the optimum mode for and application from the evaluation methods and receive direct measured values in millimeters, such as the object height, lowest or highest object position, sum, average, for example.

The values are digitally transmitted at fast cycle times, even with beam crossover activated, using IO-Link, which is said to enable convenient commissioning and maintenance from the control level. Parameterisation and configuration are completed via an external programmer, which requires no additional software.

The LGM light grids have an ultra-low profile to allow them to be fitted into tight spaces, while tool-free mounting accessories make installation, alignment, and replacement fast and easy.
