03 September 2013

The UKIVA will be presenting an educational seminar program on imaging at the Photonex Exhibition at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, UK on 16th and 17th October 2013.

The Association’s ‘Vision in Action’ theme will feature presentations including: The Icing Robot - can a robot replace skilled decorators and be used to ice a cake? Extended wavelength Imaging – Seeing the invisible; USB3.0 Vision, the NEW Vision Standard - Facts, Set-up & Migration explained; ‘Lasers in 3D imaging; and Hyper Spectral Imaging for Industrial Measurements.

The seminar programme will look at how 3D imaging can be used to address the tricky requirements to automate icing a cake; how imaging outside of visible wavelengths can give better accuracy, faster throughput and improved quality compared to traditional imaging for some applications; the benefits of the new USB3 Vision Standard and how USB3.0 cameras can be integrated into a system; the applications of laser lines in 3D imaging and other measurement applications using structured light, and the use of hyperspectral imaging techniques.
